The art here tells a story of hope

The Wave

‘The Wave’ is an original piece of art co-created with patients, family members and staff connected to two adolescent inpatient units located at the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, Alberta. For decades, people in need of mental health support have travelled a hallway that leads to these two inpatient units as part of their recovery journey. The addition of ‘The Wave’ has brought vibrancy and energy into the space. The imagery and words shown in each of the 300+ hand-crafted tiles have meaning to those who created them, showcasing the things that are important to them and conveying warmth, healing, and hope.

The collective efforts of so many, along with the various artist contributions, have resulted in a piece that engages the senses, lifts spirits, and provides hope and inspiration to all.
